I've always liked Katherine Heigl (even though her character on Grey's drives me nuts), all the way back to the 'My Father the Hero' days.
According to this article, Katherine paid $25,000 to have 25 Chihuahuas flown from L.A. (where they were going to be put to sleep) to The Humane Society for Greater Nashua of New Hampshire! Brittany and I did not go to this shelter, but it is one of the shelters that participates in the Shelter Partners program.
Pretty neat!

OhMy!! Dan was 'just' telling me about the chihuahuas that were at the Nashua HS, but I had no idea Katherine had paid for it! I agree, I love her even more now!
ReplyDeleteNashua HS is a wonderful facility. We made our first trip there after Jenifer and Jenny brought their dogs up. We were very impressed, and touched as driving onto the property you first drive through a beautiful pet cemetary....

ReplyDeleteHi girls! Just this past Thursday we went to the shelter, and all of the chihuahuas had just been brought out for adoption the Saturday before. OhMy, they were so adorable! There were still a lot of pups there, but also a lot of people there looking the evening we stopped in, so that's good!
